LA ZENIA SURROUNDINGS
La Zenia is located on the Southern Costa Blanca, just south of the major town of Torrevieja. This stretch of coast is known as the Orihuela Costa. La Zenia is a small yet vibrant beach resort, renowned for its two popular sandy beaches and the largest shopping mall in the province of Alicante, **La Zenia Boulevard**.

The area is dotted with plenty of bars, cafes, and restaurants, making it a starting or stopping point on the Orihuela Coastal walking route. Clearly, La Zenia is an excellent location for a beach holiday, providing everything you need for a fantastic family vacation in the sun.

CLIMATE
The weather here is predominantly fantastic, as La Zenia, part of the Costa Blanca, enjoys at least 300 days of sunshine a year, with low humidity and mild winters. Summers can get quite hot, reaching temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius and higher, while spring and autumn are warm and dry. Winters remain pleasant, making it even possible to celebrate Christmas at the beach — a tradition for many.

SCENIC WALKS
The La Zenia countryside is surrounded by orange and lemon groves. A lovely walk by the sea leads you to the cliff walk to Cabo Roig, offering stunning views of the rocks and the sea. It's about an hour's walk from the Zenia Hotel to Cabo Roig Harbor and beach, where you can enjoy tapas and refreshments at the beach bars or in the marina.

You can also walk in the opposite direction toward Playa Flamenca, where you’ll encounter two beautiful beaches with bars, and even more restaurants in Playa Flamenca. For those in good shape, you can continue your scenic walk to Punta Prima or even Torrevieja along a sandy path, which includes a naturist beach. Punta Prima features charming beach bars and delightful restaurants.

MARKETS
While La Zenia itself does not host any markets, several are located nearby. On Saturdays, the La Flamenca market takes place within walking distance. Additionally, there is a charming market in Cabo Roig on Thursdays, and a large street market in Torrevieja every Friday.

Along the beach at Cabo Roig, there is a pleasant market on Thursdays featuring local fruits, vegetables, food, mobile bars with "Chocolate y Churros," local products, and souvenirs — all with an amazing view of the Mar Menor.

GETTING TO LA ZENIA
La Zenia is centrally located between two airports: San Javier Airport in Murcia, which is a 15 to 20-minute drive away, and Alicante Airport, approximately 40 minutes away. Both airports are well-connected to Western Europe.

Alicante Airport serves many budget airlines, including Ryanair, Norwegian, and EasyJet. La Zenia is easily accessible via the AP-7 motorway, which requires a toll. The AP-7 connects the northern and southern Costa Blanca.

From Murcia San Javier Airport, there is no toll if you exit the motorway at Cabo Roig or Campoamor. The cost of the motorway when driving from Alicante Airport is around 4 to 6 euros, depending on the tourist season. Alternatively, you can take the N-332, which connects the Costa Blanca from north to south, passing through the cities of Santa Pola and Torrevieja.

If you head towards Alicante from La Zenia, you will visit Torrevieja, a popular spot among Western European tourists, making it busier. For a quieter experience with more local Spanish tourists, consider heading towards the Mar Menor and exploring the towns of Pilar de la Horadada.
