The Location: La Zenia
La Zenia is situated on the Costa Blanca South, just south of the major town of Torrevieja. This stretch of coast, known as Orihuela Costa, is a small yet vibrant beach resort among several areas within the region. La Zenia features two popular sandy beaches, perfect for relaxation, and the largest shopping mall in the province of Alicante, La Zenia Boulevard.

The area offers plenty of bars, cafés, and restaurants, making it a starting or stopping point on the Orihuela Coastal walking route. La Zenia is an ideal location for a beach holiday, providing everything you need for a fantastic family getaway in the sun.

Climate
La Zenia boasts fantastic weather, with at least 300 days of sunshine per year, low humidity, and mild winters. Summers can be very warm, reaching temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius or higher, while spring and autumn remain warm and dry. Winters are still pleasant, allowing for unique traditions like celebrating Christmas on the beach.

Dining Out
La Zenia is popular among holidaymakers and residents from across Western Europe. The opening of La Zenia Boulevard has attracted even more tourists, resulting in a wide variety of international restaurants offering cuisines from around the world.

Punta Prima features several beach bars and restaurants.

Markets
While La Zenia does not host its own markets, there are several nearby. The "La Flamenca" market takes place on Saturdays within walking distance from La Zenia. Cabo Roig hosts a charming market on Thursdays, and Torrevieja features a large street market on Fridays.

Along the Cabo Roig beach, you can enjoy a pleasant market on Thursdays, offering local fruits, vegetables, food, and souvenirs, all with stunning views of the Mar Menor.

Getting to La Zenia
La Zenia is centrally located between two airports: San Javier Airport in Murcia, which is a 15 to 20-minute drive away, and Alicante Airport, approximately 40 minutes away. Both airports are well connected to Western Europe.

Alicante Airport services many budget airlines, including Ryanair, Norwegian, and EasyJet. La Zenia is easily accessible via the AP-7 highway, which requires a toll. This highway connects the northern and southern Costa Blanca.

From Murcia San Javier Airport to La Zenia, you can avoid tolls by exiting the motorway at Cabo Roig or Campoamor. The cost of the toll from Alicante Airport is around €4 to €6, depending on the tourist season. Alternatively, you can take the N-332, which connects the Costa Blanca from north to south, passing through the cities of Santa Pola and Torrevieja.

If you head towards Alicante from La Zenia, you'll pass through Torrevieja, a popular destination among Western European tourists. For a more tranquil experience with a Spanish atmosphere, consider visiting the Mar Menor and the towns of Pilar de la Horadada.
